An absolutely stunning Victorian era (circa 1880-1900) solid silver mounted velvet purse with chatelaine clip.  This elegant purse features a repousse silver frame with pierced decoration showing cherubs and the coat of arms of the Vatican City/Holy See.  It has the 800 silver mark and star hallmarks of Italy.  The silver mount weighs approximately 83 grams.  The velvet pouch has its original lining.

This beautiful purse is in excellent condition with minor rub marks to the silver frame and some very minor age related rub marks to the velvet and some very slight fraying where the silver frame is attached.
