Here is a beautiful original hand sewn Victorian circa mid-19th Century Hussif sewing kit/purse.  It is made of luxuriously rich deep burgundy velvet with a beautiful heavily hand beaded design which looks like stylised trees and flowers on the flap closure.  There is a beaded design on both ends.  Inside is lined with a delicate blue silk with a natural cotton piece sewn on the underside of the flap which is embroidered with the a pretty flower in green, pink and orange thread which would have been used for needles.  It closes with a button/loop which has a beaded tassle.

There are some light stains to the blue silk lining and to the needle fabric.  There is velvet loss in certain areas - please see the photos for detail.
