A beautiful early 19th Century (circa 1810-1820) gilt metal and beadwork purse with chain and finger ring. This super Georgian purse has an elegant gilt metal frame and a colourful beadwork body with central stylised flower design in blue, gold, white and beige beadwork surrounded by a multi colour design. There is a push button to open the purse and it is lined in lambskin. It has a chain and finger ring which takes the total measurement to 21 cm. Dimensions are approximate. The beadwork is superb.
There has been a repair of sorts near to the centre and can be seen in the photos but is more visible on the inside of the purse. There is missing stitching to either side at the top near the frame but the lining is secure. The purse is 200 plus years old and is in remarkable condition for its age. The colours are vibrant and the frame and opening work perfectly.
